Second Summer Concert
Our Summer Season series continues with a return to the Martin Luther King Jr. Performing Arts Center at Charlottesville High School. Featured performers include Doug Schneider singing “Luck Be a Lady,” Leslie Claire Wood singing “If I Were a Bell,” and trombonist Robert Graham playing “The Bad and the Beautiful.”
Rivanna Winds Play at Botanical Garden of the Piedmont
The “Music in the Garden” series continues with our Rivanna Winds Dixieland Band! They play a classic American style derived from blues, gospel, Ragtime and military brass bands. They also play a range of marches, polkas and waltzes.
Brass Quintet Plays Downtown
Enjoy music outdoors on the historic Downtown Mall as the Brass Quintet celebrates Independence Day weekend! The Charlottesville Band’s Brass Quintet is a rotating group comprised of the trumpet, horn, trombone and tuba, specializing in upbeat and fun classics.
America’s 250th Birthday Celebration
America turns 250 years old and we’ll be playing celebratory music for the entire family, including Aaron Copeland’s “Lincoln Portrait,” narrated by actor and vocalist Doug Schneider. We will also feature the U.S. Army Brass Quintet, who will perform with the Band, along with other special guests.
Saxophone Ensemble at The Colonnades
Continuing our 3rd Thursday Series with The Colonnades, the Charlottesville Albemarle Saxophone Ensemble (CASE) consists of musicians performing on soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. The group performs a variety of modern, jazz and popular music composed and/or arranged for saxophone ensemble. This performance is free and open to the public.
Rivanna Winds Play at Westminster Canterbury of the Blue Ridge
Our Rivanna Winds Dixieland Band play a classic American style derived from blues, gospel, Ragtime and military brass bands. They also play a range of marches, polkas and waltzes. This performance is free and open to the public!
Final Concert of the Summer Series
Our 2026 Summer Season series concludes with a return to the Martin Luther King Performing Arts Center at Charlottesville High School. Our guests for this performance include clarinetist Bobby Gregg playing, our Murphy Competition winner Michelle Wong, and our own Cville Five High Trumpets.
Joint Chamber Music Concert
Our Chamber Music Series continues with Summer of Classics, featuring chamber music ensembles from The Charlottesville Band, the Orange Band, and the Fredericksburg Band. We’ll be playing music from classical to Dixieland, and admission is free!
Cville Cinco at The Colonnades
Continuing our 3rd Thursday Series with The Colonnades Senior Living, Cville Cinco—the Charlottesville Band’s Woodwind Quintet—is composed of flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon, and plays a wide variety of repertoire. This event is free and open to the public.
Cville Cinco Plays at Piedmont Botanical Garden
Enjoy the outdoors with our woodwind quintet, Cville Cinco, as they play in the “Music in the Garden” series. Our newest Band ensemble, Cville Cinco is composed of flute, oboe, clarinet, horn, and bassoon, and plays a wide variety of repertoire.
104th Season Fall Concert
Our 104th Season continues with our Fall Concert at the Martin Luther King Performing Arts Center at Charlottesville High School.
Our Instrument Petting Zoo will be there, so come enjoy a Sunday afternoon with the Band in air conditioned comfort, with plenty of free parking right in front of the venue!
2026 Holiday Celebration Concert at The Paramount
The Charlottesville Band will close its 104th Season with our annual Holiday Celebration Concert at The Paramount Theater in downtown Charlottesville. The FREE family-oriented program will feature traditional holiday favorites, a sing-a-long, guest vocalists, and a visit from Santa. And maybe — just maybe — the first snowfall of the season!
Flute Ensemble at The Colonnades
Join Cville Band’s Flute Ensemble for the 3rd Thursdays Series at the Colonnades. Comprised of current and former Band members, Cville Flutes performs classic pieces and puts their own spin on modern day numbers. This event is free and open to the public.
2026 Summer Season Opener
The Charlottesville Band opens our 104th Summer Season at the Paramount Theater. As always, our Instrument Petting Zoo for kids will be operating at the foot of the stage before the performance.
Cville Band Holds Clarinet Auditions
Cville Band is holding Bb soprano clarinet auditions for new members on May 30, 10AM-12PM at The Charlottesville Band Building in Charlottesville, VA.

Coffee Shop Concert
Listen to the sounds of Cville Cinco while enjoying a pastry and beverage at First Free Coffee Bar! Cville Cinco is our wind quintet, an intimate chamber ensemble that pulls together the sounds of flute, oboe, clarinet, French horn, and bassoon. This ensemble has a large selection of music to draw from, including baroque, classical, pop, holiday, and stage and screen.
